Awakening is not the ultimate goal of spiritual seeking.
Awakening is resolving the question of, "what am I?" Nothing more.
The world of spirituality covers a lot of ground. Most of it has to do with "how to be" and not "what you are." Getting better at expressing truth, embracing the world in compassion, manifesting endless love as your very being, unshakable loyalty and seasoned innocence. All of these things, and many more, come under the rubric of "spirituality."
Awakening to your true self has nothing to do with any of them.
There is nothing wrong with any of the goals of "how to be" in the spiritual milieu, of course, they just aren't what awakening to your true being is.
In any endeavor, any striving, any undertaking it is a very good idea to make sure you are moving towards your goal, steadfastly.
So, in those moments where you are bending your intention to awakening to what you really are, stay on target and do not let yourself be diverted into the realm of how to comport yourself.
How do you stay on track? I'd love all the tricks and tips I can get my hands on. 😉
