The Path Only You Can Tread | The Truth Is You

The Path Only You Can Tread

"You enter the forest at the darkest point, where there is no path. Where there is a way or a path, it is someone else’s path. You are not on your own path. If you follow someone else’s way, you are not going to realize your potential." ~ Joseph Campbell

The many moments in meditation where I have let go of the body-brain were no where near as profound (and simple) as when the body-brain let go of me.

These sorts of moments are not uncommon when you dissolve the lies learned about you. In fact they are terribly common. What is not common is the order in which they occur. This happens because what we find when we seek our true self is the opposite of what culture attempts to imprint upon us: conformity.

Conformity is a perfectly good strategy for survival, and really an inevitable outcome as we learn how to survive in this world. Unfortunately that conformity is taken far beyond the needs of survival. Society, at large, is a factory line designed to produce trained primates who serve it's purposes. That is not what we really are.

We all share a large number of common factors. However, the one thing which makes you, you, is the one thing that no one else can have. You. Your particular place in things, and your particular take on things. Your unique individual existence. As you shed the accumulated assumptions and ideas about what you are, more of this uniqueness is revealed. The place you ultimately end up at is yours alone. It always has been, and always will be. The things you will shed have some commonalities with your fellow humans. After all the lies are there to make you conform in the same way they are designed to make others conform. The order in which these lies were put in place is different for different people. Likewise the order in which these layers are let go will vary.

The path of recovery is nearly as unique as you are. Looking to hit the "signposts" along the way in the same order a someone else will serve only as a distraction. This is a delay you do not need. Instead you can use the notes and reports left behind by others as confirming signs in themselves. Signs that you are on the right track, if not on the same sequence.

Ultimately, the path of revealing you, and divesting yourself of the lies about you is one that only you are qualified to walk. No one can stride with you. They may be able to send you text messages along the way to trade notes about what you encounter, and the sights you see, but that's about it.
