Diverting from a Point to a Path | The Truth Is You

Diverting from a Point to a Path

Once you have decided that awakening to the truth of what you are is something you would like and get value from (and it is!), you will likely get to work at it.

That's not bad, but that is right where things can go seriously awry.  We are conditioned to believe that in order to achieve something that thing is in the future (then) and not where we are (there).  We look for a way to get over there, so that we can obtain our objective.

The trouble is that you are not over there and then.  You are here and now.  That's a no brainer.  Still, it is very easy to hear about awakening and make the same type of goal out of it that we do with everything else.  This puts us on a spiritual path, 99 times out of 100.  Let me be clear about something...

Spiritual growth is not bad!

Nor is financial, physical or intellectual growth.  All types of growth are good! I love, love, love learning.  I love personal development.  I truly believe that being a human manifestation of reality is all about evolution, on all levels and across all areas of being.

It's just that...

Awakening and Spiritual Growth are not the same thing.

Awakening is about dissolving the lie that you are a separate life, cut off and distinct from reality, forever struggling to survive and thrive.  Awakening is about what you are.  Growth is about how you are.

I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.  Cheers!

I enjoyed the distinction that you made between awakening and growth. Most certainly, all growth that puts us on an evolution path is good!

I agree wholeheartedly, Evelyn! growth is good, as is evolution. Awakening is also good, just (as you noted) distinct. Cheers!

I just read a comment, via the script lab, actually that summed this up nicely:

Knowledge is growth, but acting upon it is change.

Awakening sounds a lot like the knowledge part. And it seems to me, that growth, change, action are a natural and spontaneous outcome of that awareness…

I would make a distinction between increasing one's wealth, with growing financial wealth. richer is not better, if it simply means more of the same:)

    nice info;) tnx
