Awakening Interviews: Paul Hedderman

Today I have another interview with people who have woken up.  This one is with Paul Hedderman, of zenbitchslap.com.

I hope you enjoy the interview as much as I did doing it.  I have had the chance to go to a few meetings with Paul since he is in the Bay Area.  He gives talks twice a week, most weeks, and you can find the schedule on his site.  You can also find TONS of freely downloadable recordings of Paul’s talks going back a few years.

Great stuff!

Please let me know what you think in the comment section below, and let me know if there is anyone you would like to hear interviewed on this site.

Thanks!

You can download the interview here.

Deep, unsettling ideas, beautifully expressed: "The gift that keeps on giving … nothing." Love it!

      Wolf,

Glad you liked the interview. Unsettling ideas are where the gold is buried, as near as I can tell. Cheers!

I was getting tired of watching "awakened" sorts sitting there being serene and blissful (somewhat affectedly)and filling my head with more content. I was getting irritated and just about to turn my back then BANG Paul Hedderman! What a breath of fresh air. Invitation received. Entertaining it.

Gav, I know what you mean! I got into a very bland space for a long time of just "more of the same." It's great when something lands well and we get a jolt of something that clicks for us, and which we can put to good use.

I don't know if you have been to one of Paul's meetings, or if you are in the Bay Area, but it is time very well spent! At least, I think so!

      Cheers!

Hi Travis, thanks for responding to the post. I'd love to go see Paul, however I'm located near to Birmingham in the U.K. and without the makings.
I will continue to visit your lovely site and am just about to relisten to your talk with Paul right now.

        Kind regards, Gav

Thanks for the kind words, Gav!

Keep an eye on Paul's site too. He gets around! You never know when he might end up in the U.K. There are also years worth of talks on his site, for free as well as podcasts through iTunes. Very highly recommended. There are a couple in there where I was at the meeting as well and asked questions. ;)

I am glad you'll be coming back to my site, and would love to hear if there is anything in particular you would like to see. You can leave a comment, or drop me a line at travis(at)thetruthisyou.com.

          Cheers!

I got your mail about intention.I don't really get what you mean. What was the intention you had that bought you to awakening? What goal/target?

            Gav,

I answered this on your comment on the Intention page. I was traveling over the weekend, and was not able to approve the comments until today.

The intention that brought me to awakening was the intention to awaken. I determined to find the truth of what I am, without regard to cost, or consequence. Holding that intention firmly led me to the direct experience of, and realization of, what I am.

Spot on… I completely agree! Some 'awakers' are too much and make me feel like a total loser! But of course… that's because it's the 'me' thinking it! Paul hits hard!

        Right on, Poppy!

Paul is awesome! If you get a chance check out his site. He's been at this for a long time, and his sharing is very precise. I always get a lot out of it.

I know what you mean about some awakening teachers making one feel inadequate. I have had that experience too! Any type of teacher can have that vibe in them. Luckily there is always another teacher and you can find one that does not talk down to you, if that is what serves you best. It's a fine line to walk, but you are always the best judge of what is working for you, even though that gets terribly muddled sometimes.

When it comes to you, and what it is like to be you, you are the only possible authority.

        Cheers!

    Travis:

Just came upon your site tonight…you've interviewed two of my favorites…the Headless Way is excellent and Hedderman lights it up like no one I know…he's an acquired taste…but, he's soooo good, real, and honest…nice job and liked what you said in a previous post about the intention to awaken regardless of cost or consequence…be well…

Patrick, glad you got good stuff out of the interviews. I'm a big fan of the way Paul puts it too, he strikes a lot of the 12-Step chords in my awakening drum kit. ;)

Hope you enjoy the rest of the site. Let me know if you have any questions, or if there's anything I can do.

      Cheers!
